1 Malvastrum corchorifolium Kapolei, off of Ho'omohala Ave between the community college and rail station Along road, in partial shade of Leucaena Preserved_Specimen About 10 plants seen, flowers bright yellow, about 1 cm in diameter, brighter and smaller than what I'm used to seeing for M. coromandelianus. This plant was also about 60 cm tall, and had clearly survived the summer, all other M. coromandelianus I saw in Faccenda, K. 3035 Oahu BISH 2023-02-19
2 Malvastrum corchorifolium ca. 200 meters inland of Barber's Point Harbor, Ko Olina Open coastal plain, growing in Leucaena scrub with Cenchrus cillaris, Pluchea carolinensis, and Thymophylla tenuifolia, soil calcareous, dry. Preserved_Specimen Perennial herb; stems erect, radiating from root crown, ca. 60-70 cm. tall; corolla yellowish orange. Putative hybrid. Common in area, ca. 150 plants seen Ross, M.C. 1942 Oahu BISH 2023-05-17
